PASIGHAT, Feb 24: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh on Tuesday urged people not to pay heed to rumors and to get the Covid-19 vaccine without doubt and fear.
“Trust the vaccine made in India. Every procedure was being followed during the immunization exercise in the district”, she further said adding that so far 3,227 persons have registered and administered the 1st dose to 1,288, followed by 2nd dose to 435 persons. No abnormal report has been received so far even though it has been more than a month since the drive was launched in the district, the DC stated.
Dr. Singh was addressing the newly elected PRI leaders, Councillors, Religious leaders, CBOs, NGOs in a Covid-19 vaccination awareness program, convened by the DMO Dr. Kaling Dai in the DMO’s office, Pasighat. She while appealing all to be more vigilant and careful, advised to spread awareness in society inviting doctors with a mission to disseminate right information to the people. Singh mentioned in her brief speech that rumors were also spread during polio immunization but people took the vaccine and finally made India polio-free.
DMO Dr. Kaling Dai informed that some states were seeing a spike in cases with a low rollout vaccinations. Fear of new variants looms, vaccination to all become very important. Officers and leaders should include vaccination awareness advisories in their every deliberation.
