Aalo, Jul 26: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi conducted an elaborate meeting on various Covid-19 issues with the Secretaries/Presidents of the 31 sectors and colonies of the township here at the DC’s Conference Hall on Saturday.
While emphasising that the participating sectors and colonies hold the key in containing the spread of coronavirus, DC urged them to assist the police to check all unwanted activities such as keeping close vigil on people undergoing home quarantine, unauthorized sale of liquor in ghumtis, shops operating without license, strict adherence to closure time by shops etc. Informing that badges will be issued to all volunteers, he appealed to the participants to choose only the committed volunteers who can work under supervision of the Magistrate and police.
Responding to appeals on initiating controlled movement of military, paramilitary and GREF personnel who perform duties remaining in proximity to civilian areas and engagement of labourers for construction works, DC assured to take up the issue with the respective Commandants. He disclosed that positive cases found among army personnel have been shifted to CCC Likabali and patients from ITBP will also be shifted soon to their Covid Centres and no new labourers will be allowed entry during the pandemic.
DMO Dr. Moli Riba stressed on strict adherence to the new SOPs issued by the government and appealed all to cooperate in handling the situation in the district. The doctors and frontline workers are working overtime despite the difficulty in working at a stretch wearing PPE, he said.
