ZIRO, Feb 11: The District Task Force Committee meeting on Self Employment Program (SEP) and PM SVANIDHI ( PM - Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Nidhi) component of Deendayal Antodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY- NULM ) under Ziro was held at Hapoli today.
Chairing the meeting, DC-cum-Chairman DUDA Somcha Lowang, called for identifying genuine beneficiaries and encouraging them to set up gainful self - employment ventures.
The UD department should also ensure appropriate training is provided to the beneficiaries before extending financial support. "This can be done through collaboration with the training agencies of the government," she added.
Lowang also impressed upon the banks the need for early disbursement of loan to vendors, individuals and SHGs to achieve the targets under DAY- NULM.
She further directed the EE cum Member Secretary, DUDA Er. Nich Jacob to ensure timely submission of completion reports of the schemes for onward submission to the government.
The Self Employment Programme of urban poor is a component of the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). It provides financial assistance to individuals/groups of urban poor for setting up gainful self-employment ventures/ micro-enterprises, suited to their skills, training, aptitude and local conditions.
Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana or DAY is a Government of India scheme for helping the poor by providing skill training. It replaces Aajeevika.
Bank managers and officials of DUDA and members of the District Task Force attended the meeting.
