Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ZIRO, Jun 25: Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri Somcha Lowang today chaired an awareness-cum-interactive session with all the religious heads, youth organizations, student leaders, TSD, CBOs and NGOs of the district at the DC’s Conference hall in Hapoli, wherein she called for making the Covid-19 vaccination mission in the district a ‘people’s campaign’.
"Lower Subansiri has been listed as a low performing district in terms of vaccination coverage. Due to a difference in actual head count and electoral roll, the actual health status and performance of field staff are not reflected, leading to skewed indicators. The efforts of all healthcare workers, District Administration, District Police and panchayat leaders to ensure a good coverage will continue,” the DC asserted while urging the religious leaders to assess the vaccination status amongst their believers and encourage them to get vaccinated. She further requested them to submit an Action Taken Report within a week. "The NGOs, student unions and CBOs assisting the DA and medical department for attaining 100 % vaccination coverage will be duly recognised, the DC assured, adding that all Heads of Offices have been directed to submit the list of unvaccinated government employees by June 30 for further intimation to the higher authority.
DMO Dr. Tage Kanno, Medicine Specialist Dr. Roto Robo and Pediatrician Dr. Bengia Abo interacted with the leaders and cleared the confusions, apprehensions, rumours and misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine. The DMO made a PowerPoint Presentation on the current Covid situation in the district, assuring along with to plan special vaccination sessions in all religious prayer centers. The student unions assured to inoculate all its executive members and submit an Action Taken Report to the DC within a week. It was also decided to intensify awareness activities in local dialects. Among others SP Harsh Indora attended the meeting.
As of June 24, 19,480 people have been vaccinated in the district, out of which 15,413 have received the 1st dose and 4067 fully inoculated. DIPRO
