ITANAGAR, Nov 28: The third batch of the self-supported Training in Hospitality by Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), Itanagar, concluded here today at Tadar Taniang Hall.
The chief guest at the function, Honchun Ngandam, Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education, spoke at length to the 22 youths who had completed the training in front office management, housekeeping and food & beverage service, of which good 50% were from his home constituency, Pongchau-Wakka.
The Minister while asking them to be determined, disciplined and dedicated congratulated the candidates for successfully completing the three-month residential training and added, “Be skilled and be useful.  Be skilled and be employed”.  Honchun also called upon the trainees to be “hospitable” while assuring all assistance possible to DBYC to continue with the many youth-empowerment programmes the centre is busy with. 
Guest of honour, Subu Tabin, Director, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, while congratulating DBYC for the constant efforts it has been making in the field of skill development and job placement, called upon the trainees to show their gratitude to the training institution and the trainers through hard work and exemplary behavior and thus make Arunachal proud.  He also gave practical tips on how to cope up with life outside Arunachal such as adjusting to new food habits and changed environment.  He exhorted the students to remain in their places of work for a few years, as that would bring dividends
Earlier, while welcoming the guests, Fr. Kamil Horo, Parish Priest, Catholic Church, Itanagar, appreciated the staff and trainees of DBYC and advised them to keep up the name of Don Bosco through good behavior.  
The trainees will leave for Kerala on December 1 and will start working in four star to five star category resorts and hotels and will initially earn a minimum of Rs.7000 after food and accommodation in campus for the first six months.  Thereafter, they are to be absorbed as temporary employees for yet another six months and then as regular employees with all benefits and substantial increment in pay.
