Khonsa/YUPIA, Sep 20: District Level Coordination Meetings on 2nd round of National Deworming Day 2019 have been undertaken by various District Administrations in the state.
At Khonsa today, a District Coordination Committee Meeting on National Deworming Day and District Task Force Immunization was held at Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall in DC’s office under the chairmanship of DC-cum-Chairman DTFI In-charge Hakresha Kri, EAC in which all frontline departments such as District Health Society & Family Welfare, ICDS, Education actively participated. DMO Dr. K. Mossang sought cooperation from all health workers, ICDS and Education Department to create awareness among all parents to de-worm their children from pre-school and school-age children between the ages of 1-19 years. She informed that in schools, teachers would provide one Albendazole tablet to all enrolled children and record the name of the child and Anganwadi Centres would also provide the doze to all children from 0-5 years and record the same in register. Later, Kri administered pledge on the occasion.
DD(ICDS) Hacham Bangsia, DDSE representative T. Tangjang also spoke on the occasion. All Medical Officers I/c of CHC Deomali, PHCs Borduria, Lazu, Dadam, Natun Kheti, Paniduria and Kapu shared their experiences.
Meanwhile, the District Level Co-ordination Meeting of the same kind was held at ZPC Conference Hall Yupia under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu today to discuss action plan for the forthcoming NDD day.
DC called upon all stakeholders including Medical Officers and Line Departments like Education, WCD to work with missionary zeal to make NDD successful in Papum Pare district which is scheduled to be held on September 26 . He opined that to achieve maximum outreach, apart from government schools, all private schools must be included and directed the DDSE and DD ICDS to disseminate information about NDD to all schools and Aganwadi centres located in far flung areas.
Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu who also spoke on the occasion requested all MO I/Cs to conduct such coordination meetings with concerned administrative officers and all other stakeholders for successful implementation of NDD. DD ICDS Cell Yupia, A. Lowangcha, DDSE T. Zara also spoke on the occasion and assured full cooperation and convergence with the health department.
