Itanagar, Aug 6: Chief Secretary of the state Satya Gopal today conducted  a video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police for maintaining law & order and peace in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh in view of the introduction of the Reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir Bill here at the Civil Secretariat.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary gave instructions to all the District Authorities and asked them to maintain maximum alert so as to pre-empt and prevent any breach of security or public order. While giving directions to closely monitor the developments so as to prevent anti-social elements from causing breach of security, peace and public harmony in any part of the state, Chief Secretary also gave special directions to the DCs and SPs to strictly strengthen the Inner Line Permit checking mechanism in their respective districts.
Orders for exercising strict vigil especially in districts sharing borders with Assam and Nagaland have been issued. District Authorities have been instructed to take special care to ensure safety and security of the people from Jammu and Kashmir, especially students hailing from there and residing in Arunachal. Keeping in view that the state has witnessed movement of traders and tourists from Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Secretary directed the District Authorities to keep a close vigil on them and provide necessary security.
Strict instructions were also issued to maintain vigil against circulation of false, unverified news, rumours and unscrupulous messages on social media aimed at disturbing peace, tranquility and inciting violence and communal discord. PRO CS
