ITANAGAR, Aug 10: Daporijo, the headquarters of Upper Subansiri district has become the eight town in the state to launch online payment of electricity bills. 
MLA Daporijo, Taniya Soki, launched the same on August 8 last from the office of the Chief Engineer (Power), Western Electrical Zone, Vidyut Bhawan, Itanagar in presence of all the Chief Engineers (Power).
With the launch, 4369 electricity consumers of Daporijo town will have the online services such as Online Billing, E-Billing, SMS Services, Customer Care Supports and Online Payments.
Er. Bar Takum, Chief Engineer (P), Western Electrical Zone cum State Nodal Officer highlighted the objective of the scheme and its importance and relevance of the Online Payment of Electricity Bills. 
Er. Joram Lali, Executive Engineer (E), Capital Electrical Division who is also the Nodal Officer for Online Payment including other related activities  informed that unified billing solution has been developed for the entire state and is ready to integrate remaining districts wherever internet connectivity is available.
MLA Soki in his speech stressed on power saving, timely revenue payment and discouraged illegal/unauthorized service connections which will lead to increase revenue collection.
