ITANAGAR, Jul 19:

Continuing its drive to check illegal meat vendors along the National Highway, the EAC Itanagar, Jiken Bomjen along with the OC Itanagar today caught six persons running illegal slaughter houses along the NH-415. The slaughter houses were being run at Gohpur, Chandranagar and 6 Kilo. An FIR has also been lodged at Itanagar Police Station against the defaulters, informed the EAC.

The District Administration Capital Complex has been carrying out such eviction drive against illegal meat vendors since the last few months following  an order in this regard issued by the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan, prohibiting slaughter houses along the NH-415 within Itanagar Capital Complex. Although the vendors were given enough time to relocate to other feasible locations, they were found operating along the National Highway in spite of the prohibition order.
