Longding, Nov 23: A meeting with representatives of all the political parties in order to discuss about the modalities of the upcoming panchayat election was held here at DC office Longding. The meeting started with Circle officer Gyamar Amte briefing about the Model Code of Conduct and the dos and don’ts in the election.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Bani Lego spoke about the importance of free and fair election in a democracy and urged the political parties to follow the Model Code of Conduct.
The DC told the political parties to abstain from any kind of violence and participate in the election in a peaceful manner. The meeting ended with questions and answer session in order to clarify the doubts of the participants.
