YUPIA, Aug 9: The 10th District Task Force for Immunization (DFTI) meeting for COVID-19 vaccination drive was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Pige Ligu to discuss and review the performance of COVID-19 vaccination drive in Papum Pare District.
The meeting was attended by ADC (Hq) Tabang Bodung, DMO Dr.K.Perme, DySP(Police), DSO-IDSP, DANO, MO i/cs, Admin officers and staffers.
While reviewing the performance of the COVID-19 vaccination, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised on taking up pragmatic approach towards people hesitant for jabs and asked the DMO and his team to make comprehensive plan to cover up the unvaccinated population of the district before August 15.
He further reiterated that people should not spread rumours on COVID-19 vaccine and while sharing his own experience, he said that despite taking both doses, he also tested positive and there is every possibility of people testing positive, but vaccines helps in developing good immune response and lessening the intensity of the virus. He called upon the health workers to work in tandem with local administration to convince, educate and encouraged people who have not vaccinated yet to get themselves vaccinated as it is only weapon to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, DRCHO Dr. Neyang Nitik presented an overview of COVID-19 vaccination coverage report in Papum Pare District. Till date 753 vaccination sessions have been conducted in the district wherein 36335 people have been vaccinated and efforts are on to cover up unvaccinated population to achieve the target, she said.
Medical Officer In-Charges from various health facility also shared the problem faced by them during the course of convincing hesitant people to get their shots and need for constant support from local administration for successful conduct of vaccination drive in the district. DIPRO
