Deomali, Apr 4: A Cyclothon -- a cycle rally with a theme “Nasha Mukt Tirap”was conducted at Deomali today under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan which is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice & empowerment & Tribal affairs, Govt. of India, and organized under the initiative of Tirap District Administration and Care Me Home Welfare Society.
Dr Balban Kamlo, Circle Officer-Soha interacted with the participants of different age groups and asked them to take cycling as a sport and stay safe from drug abuse and protect family and friends from the social evil.
Wangphoon Lowang ZPM-Deomali Block also applauded the initiative and requested all the participants to remain fit and take up any sports to maintain self discipline for fit mind and body.
Laxman Hondique, Vijay Shah and Manpong Gangsa were the top three of the cycle rally.
