PASIGHAT, Oct 3: To mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on Friday last, ‘Cycling Competition 2020-21’ was organised by the East Siang Cycling Association (ESCA) under the aegis of Arunachal Cycling Association (ACA) which was inaugurated by local MLA Kaling Moyong at Raneghat.
The main objective of the competition was to spread awareness among Pasighat denizens in keeping the township congestion-free and promote cycling as a sport for a healthy body. Originating from Raneghat check gate the rally touched Bodak village and returned to the starting point. The first prize of Rs 15,000 each for male and female contestants was sponsored by M/s Len Gas Agency and prominent leader Mongol Yomso. Kennong Moyong and Diana Taying clinched the first positions in male and female categories respectively. The second prize of Rs 10,000 sponsored by Secretary, Games and Sports, ABK (Apex) Okit Paling was bagged by Poklung Tamut and Ken Noram. Radhe Bhai and Oyin Tapak as third position winners received Rs 5000 each, sponsored by SBI Pasighat.
Ten participants were also honoured with Rs 1000 each as consolation prizes sponsored by SBI Pasighat Branch Manager Kokong Tamuk. DIPRO
