SEPPA, Oct 6: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar while assuring every possible help to the East Kameng district administration in the development sector, has also asked the heads of department to incorporate “coordination and persuasion” for successful implementation of any developmental projects.
Attending a district review cum coordination meeting at DC conference hall here on Sunday, Kumar said that he will help the district administration with their future plans in every possible way.
He said that a review meeting will be held on November 6 next through video conferencing on various issues discussed in the meeting and accordingly see if the plans are being seriously implemented.
Kumar asked the heads of departments to work to solve the problems of the people rather than counting their own. He said that the department of public health and engineering should make sure that people are being provided quality drinking water within two months.
“Every head of department should at least go on the ground to work for eight hours. Unless we work, we can’t solve any issues for the public,” he said, adding that the heads of department should do justice for what they are paid and for what they have been appointed. Appreciating the idea of the district administration for lighting the ‘Nisam Sonam’ bridge located at the entry point of Seppa town, Kumar requested the four local legislators to contribute Rs 10 lakh each from the MLALAD fund and assured to provide the rest money from his side.
He said the district is blessed with great potential in agriculture, horticulture and tourism. Stressing upon making a serious plan for rafting, Kumar asked the DC to make the best use of his young mind in the tourism sector.
Kumar requested the DC and heads of department to make sure that every plan and project discussed in the meeting is made successful so that the district can set an example for others.
He also interacted with the heads of department on their plans and issues they have been facing and suggested ideas to tackle it. He suggested the DDSE write a letter to the state education department for more Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics teachers in the district while going through the lack of subject teachers in the schools.
He also asked the district health department to get all the required medical equipment by December 25 next.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner P Pravimal Abhishek through a powerpoint presentation highlighted the major district developmental issues and infrastructure proposals in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Minister for sports and youths affairs, Mama Natung, Seppa MLA Tapuk Taku, Chayantajo MLA Hayang Mangfi, ADC Dahey Sangno, Superintendent of police along with the heads of department.
Chief Secretary also visited the district hospital in the morning along with Secretary Health P Parthiban, secretary RWD NT Glow and Water Resource Department (WRD) Chief Engineer (Western Zone) Getom Borang.
