PASIGHAT, May 16:  Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar reviewed the  preparedness on  Covid management & health infrastructure, Covid-19 Vaccination status of   East Siang here today at DC Conference Hall. 
Taking stock of availability of medicines, test kits, oxygen generators, ventilators, manpower, other logistics and life- saving medical equipment  requirements, Kumar  said additional testing facilities & health infrastructure  needs to  be  ramped up to gear up for future requirements  adding that  Action Plan  proposals for upcoming months need to  focus on  further strengthening  this aspect. All fund support for procurement will be provided on top priority, he said.
CS said the government norms of exempting BPL & students from charges in Covid Care Centres must be followed in letter and spirit. He also laid stress on Telemedicine consultation, strengthening of CHCs.  
Covid appropriate Behaviours of masking, social distancing,  hand-washing  to prevent the virus from spreading must continue, he said adding that role of  CBOs, GBs, ASHAs, and other stakeholders in society is vital in the fight against the virus.
Taking stock of  Law & order and Jal Jeevan Mission and power supply, the CS  called for adopting a zero tolerance policy for a drug-free East Siang, 100% target achievement under Jal Jeevan Mission by 2021.
Deputy Commissioner East Siang Dr. Kinny Singh highlighted the Covid preparedness & response taken up in the second wave of Covid -19 and Covid management as a whole and measures adopted to flatten the curve in the district.  The DC informed that 96% vaccination of 45-plus citizens have been completed in the ongoing vaccination drive. 1806 persons have been screened at the Point of Entries of Ruksin Checkgate & Airport, status of active Covid cases  with cumulative positivity rate of 4.9% , 1338 total tests have been done, 12 Rapid Response Teams for contact tracing,  48 number of O2 beds, status of oxygen generators, oxygen management in the district, availability of Medicines & Test Kits.
