Gopal while reviewing the presentation on Annual Action Plan of State Bamboo Mission asked to maintain transparent procedures in selection of beneficiaries under the scheme.
District Forest Officer should work in close coordination with District Administration in the process of selection of beneficiaries under the State Bamboo Mission, he emphasized.
Small and marginal farmers should be targetted, he said. To further maintain transparency, all financial subsidies to the beneficiaries should be given through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) only, he emphasised.
While advocating for equal distribution of the scheme in every district, the CS also asked them to consider the availability of raw materials, markets, transportation etc.
The National Bamboo Mission has earmarked Rs. 25 Crores to the State for promotion of Bamboo sector, which includes nursery and plantation, bamboo treatment and preservation, production and processing, bamboo market, skill development, research and development etc.
The amount of Rs. 25 Crores will be largest ever allocation made to the State by National Bamboo Mission so far with the interest and initiative of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Chief Secretary Satya Gopal. This will go a long way to promote bamboo based Industries and generate self employment in the State.
