Itanagar, Oct 12: A meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with the Principal Secretaries, Commissioners and Secretaries at CS Conference Hall, Civil Secretariat today. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s socio-cultural, political and economic identity. The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on 12th March this year which started a 75-week countdown to the 75th anniversary of Independence and will end post a year on 15th August, 2023.
The Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar called for a befitting celebration of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the State and showcase the progress that Arunachal Pradesh has achieved in the field of socio-cultural, political and economic fields in innovative ways.
A State Action Plan has been prepared based on the Action Plan of the Ministry of Culture Government of India. Various programmes have been chalked out on the themes Resolve @ 75, Actions @ 75, Freedom Struggle, Achievements @ 75.
Concerned departments like IPR, Tourism, Education etc were given responsibilities to showcase the diverse and unique culture and tradition of the State through setting exhibitions, stalls and road museums in towns and villages etc. further, department of Art & Culture shall act as a Nodal agency for the same.
Some of the activities to be undertaken are, recognition of Kaho, the first village of Arunachal Pradesh; celebration at Dipa Village of Lower Siang to commemorate the first flag hoisting of the National Tricolour on 15th August 1947; screen patriotic films/ documentaries in the community halls of the villages; financial awareness campaign; planting seedlings along PMGSY roads; preparation of State Action Plan on climate change for Arunachal Pradesh 2047; campaign on immunity building and covid vaccine; declaration of 75 places of importance (heritage site) in the state.
