ITANAGAR, Dec 13: Itanagar Cycling Meet conducted its first Cross Country Uphill MTB race titled Chimi Mountain Pass MTB Challenge. The total race distance was 8Kms which included 5kms steep uphill climb. The race started from PHQ, Itanagar and finished at Chimi Mountain Pass which is at an altitude of around 5000 feet above mean sea level. 
Seventeen-year-old Donik Rimon, won the race with a timing of 1hr 3min followed by Kago Mobin,12, and Rahul Mili, 32. The most promising rider was awarded to Ittu Gadi.
Senior Marathon runner Dr. Kago Gambo, who is also an Associate Professor, Political Science Department, Dera Natung Government College flagged off the event. Altogether 8 participants took part in the event.
Meanwhile, addressing the participants Ijum Gadi, Director, Itanagar Cycling Meet appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm of the young riders. He also stressed on the need for training of young riders in such difficult terrain which will help them in preparation for bigger race in the country.

Further, he appealed all the dwellers of Capital City Itanagar to get into the new normal of cycling for a fit body, healthy environment and sporting career.
