Changlang, Sep 30: The Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of Changlang district police got yet another success in its ongoing crusade against drugs in the district by arresting four drug traffickers last week.
Based on a tip-off about the presence of drug traffickers at Laktong area under Changlang PS, the ADS led by OC PS Changlang Inspector C A Namchoom, SI L Gendhen and a team under active supervision of SP Changlang Mihin Gambo conducted raid at a house on Monday evening which led to the recovery of approx 1.494 kg of cloth suspected to be smeared with opium hidden under the floor.
The recovery was made by digging the soil and the owner of the house identified as Kamjam Hangphuk (40) was arrested and a case under the NDPS Act was registered at Changlang PS. During interrogation the arrestee revealed the name of his accomplice who delivered the opium consignment. Based on his disclosure, the ADS arrested one more alleged opium peddler identified as Hungwang Hangsik (40), a resident of Lazu in Tirap district on the next day.

Meanwhile, in another incident, Changlang district police apprehended two drug peddlers identified as Alex Dorjee (19) and Nenthok Handik (27) from Namdang area and recovered 13 grams of suspected brown sugar from their possession. 
Accordingly, a case was registered at Namtok PS under the NDPS Act. Changlang SP PR
