Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
TAWANG, May 11: The ongoing state-wide Covid vaccination drive reached the interior villages in Tawang district with camps organized at Mago, Shalungthi and Tsechu (Damteng) villages under Thingbu Circle of Jang Sub-division on May 8 last.
The said villages are some of the most interior ones near Indo-Tibet Border. The medical team from CHC Jang which organised the camp was headed by DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema and accompanied by ADC Jang RD Thungon, EAC Thingbu Pemtan Monpa, ZPC Leki Gombu and other officials. A total of 88 beneficiaries above 45 years were vaccinated while 35 patients with different ailments were treated and provided free medicines. The DRCHO gave awareness on Covid prevention and imparted education in local dialect to the villagers on the ill-effects of tobacco, alcohol and communicable diseases.
The ZPC and ADC Jang distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to the villagers and inspected the Health sub-center in Mago village. DIPRO
