ITANAGAR, Apr 29: Covid vaccination for the 18-45 age group which was supposed to be kicked off in Arunachal Pradesh along with the rest of the country from May 1 has been deferred.
This was informed today in a press release issued by the Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), GoAP which cited “technical reasons” for the decision. However, instructions have been passed to the districts to make necessary preparations for covering the said age group, the release added, clarifying along with that the ongoing Covid vaccination drive for the priority groups (HCW, FLW and citizens above 45) will be continued.
Referring to the Liberalised Pricing and Accelerated National Covid-19 Vaccination Strategy launched by the Centre which will be effective from May 1, the release has reiterated that the state government will provide free Covid vaccines to all its citizens in the 18-45 age group.
