ITANAGAR, Jun 26: Covid casualty count of Arunachal Pradesh inflated further to reach 167 on Saturday with the death of two citizens.
Casualties
A 62-yr old female from Namsai district who was inoculated with the first dose in March and suffering from diabetes expired today at DCH Pasighat due to COVID pneumonia. A 40-yr old male from East Siang district suffering from the comorbidity of hypertension and administered with the 1st dose on June 10 last died on Friday evening at DCH Pasighat due to the combined effect of ARDS and COVID pneumonia.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
287 new cases (asymptomatic 183; symptomatic 104) were recorded from across the state. ICR (66), Lohit (34), West Kameng (30), Changlang (29) and East Siang(28) were the first 5 districts. Recoveries were lesser in number than fresh cases and of the total of 262, the first 6 districts were- ICR (53), Changlang(34), West Kameng (25), Papum Pare (18) and Upper Subansiri (17). On Saturday evening, the state’s active caseload stood at 2546 and recoveries at 32054. 4632 samples were collected from across the state on the day with maximum from the ICR (1181).
Vaccination
In the '18 years and above' age category, 9495 (18-44: 8617 ; 45+ : 845; HCW 8; FLW 25) took their first dose on the day, helping the coverage to reach 57 % and 719 took their 2nd shot (coverage remains at 10%). In terms of age-wise overall coverage (dose 1+ dose 2), as of Saturday it was 33% for 18-44, 74 % for 45+, 81% for HCWs and 92% for FLWs.
Occupancy status
At the CCCs till 8 pm on Saturday evening it was: 42 at DCH Chimpu, 21 at SQF Lekhi, 0 at DCHC Midpu, 8 at DCH Pasighat and 19 at DCHC.
