ITANAGAR, Jun 6:  The unlocking process in Itanagar Capital Region will begin from Monday, June 7 after the decision was taken during State Disaster Management Authority meeting held on Saturday.
Speaking to mediapersons today at his office chamber, Deputy Commissioner- Itanagar Capital Region – Talo Potom informed that relaxation in the ongoing Containment (Lockdown) has been given but with some restrictions.
He stated, beginning Monday, shops in the capital region along the  NH415 shall be allowed to open on alternative days (left side/ right Side) from 5 AM to 2 PM daily.  Shops on the left side of the Highway from Hollongi to Banderdewa will be open only on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, while shops on the right side will open on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. However, all shops will remain closed on Sunday.
DC also informed that all shops and commercial establishment in the ICR shall shutdown at 2 PM. All shopkeepers and vendors opening their shops should proactively encourage customers to observe COVID-19 appropriate behaviour while selling products.
Restaurants /Hotels shall be permitted to open for home delivery only till 2 PM. Operation of gym, shopping mall, weekly/ daily markets, cinema hall,  swimming pool, parlours, spa, bars, night clubs will remain suspended till further orders. However, E-commerce/ home delivery services will be allowed till 2 PM only.
 When asked about the movement of vehicles, DC said that there shall be a total ban on movement of individuals from 2 PM to 6 am daily, except for exemptions granted to an emergency, essential services & departments. He also added that public transport has been allowed to ply from 5am to 2pm only with 50% occupancy. “I have directed the commercial vehicles organization not to hike fares and if anyone is found indulging in such act strong action will be taken against the person as per rule," the DC said.
DC also informed that entry and exit in the capital region will be restricted during curfew period (2pm to 5am) and one has to take e-passes. Government offices will function till 2pm with 30% Group C staff and Group A & B will attend the office till 2pm only. DC also disclosed that restriction has been imposed in attending funerals and religious places.
