ITANAGAR, Apr 26: In the ongoing ups and downs of daily addition of Covid cases in the state, 168 were added on Monday which is more than double that of Sunday’s 70, taking Arunachal’s active caseload to 724.
Lower Dibang Valley continued to remain the prominent Covid hotspot with an addition of 46 new cases. This was followed by ICR 44, Papum Pare and Pakke Kessang 11 each, East Siang 9, West Kameng 8, Lower Subansiri and Tirap 7 each, Lohit and Tawang 5 each, Upper Subansiri 4, Changlang 3, Lower Siang and Namsai 2 each and Leparada, Longding, Upper Siang and Kra Daadi 1 each. Of the above 168 new cases, 132 are asymptomatic and 36 symptomatic.
With 25 more recoveries on the day (ICR 12; West Kameng 7; LDV 3, East Siang, Lepa Rada and Tawang 1 each), Arunachal’s recovery/discharge total is now 16993. There was a noticeable improvement in testing efforts with sample collections rising from Sunday’s 2365 to 3576 on Monday. District-wise major collections were: ICR 909, Papum Pare 892, LDV 254, Namsai 243, West Kameng 218, East Siang 213, Lohit 169, Changlang 135, Lower Subansiri 88; Pakke Kessang 83, Longding 68, Tirap 46, Tawang 43 and West Siang 35.With no further casualties, the state’s Covid death count remained at 58.
The latest current occupancy status at Covid facilities is: DCH Chimpu 18, DCHC Midpu 4, DCH Pasighat 3 and DCHC 4.
