ITANAGAR, Sep 16: The Covid-19 situation in the Itanagar Capital Region is aggravating by the day forcing several prominent institutions to announce shutdowns in the face of growing cases. The Heema Hospital management on Wednesday announced to shutdown all services including OT and Emergency for a week from September 17-22 after 20 of its healthcare workers tested positive for Covid-19. The hospital has witnessed increase in patient numbers after the Rama Krishna Mission Hospital closed down for a week from September 14-20 after 25 of its healthcare workers including 3 doctors tested positive for Covid-19. The Rajiv Gandhi University also announced closure from September 17-23 due to rapid rise in positive cases in the varsity's campus. The Directorate of Rural Development in the Civil Secretariat also announced closure for two days on September 17&18.
As per the State Bulletin issued on Wednesday evening, 221 fresh positive cases were reported in the state. Itanagar Capital Complex recorded highest 98 cases followed by Papumpare with 33 cases. A total of 129 patients recovered and were discharged today.
