AALO, Sep 30: A team of doctors at Aalo general hospital on Tuesday successfully conducted a caesarean section on a pregnant woman who is infected with the coronavirus.
She is the first coronavirus infected woman to give birth to a baby in this hospital.
The operation was performed by a team comprising Dr. J Kayi, Obs & Gynae, Dr. T Paser Anaesthetist, Staff Nurse L. Pasi and attendants   IB Limbu and Rita Ado on Tuesday. The Operation Theatre has since been closed for two days- September 29 & 30 for fumigation and sanitization. The mother and baby are in good health condition. The baby which tested negative for Covid-19 is being looked after by relatives while the woman has been isolated at the Care Centre. Medical sources also disclosed that the department is planning to set up a designated Covid-19 Operation Theatre at DCHC Block in a few days. DIPRO
