ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has mourned the sudden demise of social activist and educationist Pate Tatung, also the elder brother of President, CoSAAP Pate Marrik who died at the age of 61 at DCH, Chimpu on June 10 last.
Born in Pate village under present Kra-Daadi district in 1960, Pate Tatung completed his primary school education in Palin Circle and went on to finish his Class-X from Government Higher Secondary School, Ziro in 1978. While continuing his further studies at Saint Anthony's College, Shillong, he joined state government services in the Economics & Statistics Department in Shillong and completed his graduation in 1983. After leaving government service in 1989 he contested from 18-Palin-Chambang assembly constituency in 1990.
In its press release, CoSAAP said that late Pate Tatung will be remembered as a social activist with a very straightforward character and a true believer of Christianity who contributed immensely for the progress of the community. At the time of his demise, he was the Managing Director of Kids Kingdom School, D-Sector, Naharlagun. He is survived by his wife, Winny Pate, children and grandchildren.
