ITANAGAR, Aug 30: The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has condemned the physical attack on Er. S. K. Pandey, Executive Engineer, PWD (Longding) by miscreants at his government residence on Friday last. Miscreants looted cash, physically assaulted the officer and ransacked his house when he refused to pay them.
As per sources, the District Administration and Police are taking the case in all seriousness and some arrests have been made but the main culprits are still at large, the CoSAAP said in a release while appreciating the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and general public of Longding District for their support and cooperation to the police in search operations.
CoSAAP, the apex employees' organization of the state views this unfortunate incident seriously and appeals to the District Administration and Police to apprehend the miscreants immediately and punish them under appropriate sections of law. Such type of criminal activities cannot be and should not be tolerated in civilized society, the statement said.
 Further, it urged the home department to provide security to the officers and officials serving in vulnerable positions or areas, so that they can freely deliver public services at their best. CoSAAP also prayed for speedy recovery of the officer, who is undergoing medical treatment in Assam.
