ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The All Arunachal Contractor Welfare Association (AACWA) has welcomed the Chief Minister, Pema Khandu's assurance to complete construction of Package “A” of NH-415 by 31 March 2021, or that he would resign.
The AACWA said that such a strong stand towards development work is needed from the head of the state, who is also handling the portfolio of PWD Minister.
At the same time, AACWA hoped that the Chief minister would honour his words this time unlike the statement made during a public event at Jote on the issue of collection of commission from contractors which the association claimed is still openly practiced to acquire tender works and LOC authorization from top to bottom.
Taking the opportunity, AACWA urged the CM to look into the issue of delay in disbursement of payment against the bills of the contractor to ensure timely completion and smooth progress of the developmental work.
It also urged the CM to direct the Minister, Urban and Town Planning, to at least visit the twin capital Itanagar-Naharlagun and adopt modalities to resolve traffic congestion due to careless parking of vehicles.
