ITANAGAR, Feb 19: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has alleged that despite release of the 2nd instalment of Central assistance by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti under Pradhan Mantri Khrishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) to the state amounting to Rs. 10 crores, delay by the Economic Affairs Department under Finance branch has delayed their payments.
In a press release issued today AACWA has alleged that due to the delay the said file has not reached the Planning Department which has thereby affected the contractors who had executed projects under PMKSY. AACWA will soon find out the erring officer and file a complaint to the PMO for resorting to such anti-developmental activities and urge the state government for the officer’s transfer, the release read. Meanwhile, the AACWA has urged the state government to release funds against each sanctioned project of both Central and State for their timely completion. “The government has failed to release the required funds in regular intervals for the ongoing projects. But the contractors and the departments are only blamed for the delays,” the association alleged.
AACWA has received several verbal complaints from its enlisted contractors that some of the executing departments are collecting 15-20% from the amounts from all contractors, the release further stated.
