ITANAGAR, Aug 1: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has requested the state government not to extend the ICR lockdown beyond August 3.
Noting that the unprecedented lockdown has hit hard the construction industry, AACWA suggested that instead of extending the lockdown, the government could adopt other measures to prevent the spread of virus, especially within the ICR. To reduce traffic movement on roads, the association suggested that the odd-even rule for all kinds of vehicles including Auto, Tempo and 2-wheelers can be adopted along with the left-right system of opening shops to check overcrowding in market areas. It also suggested that a universal WhatsApp number can be introduced so that denizens can file complaints against persons who violate SOPs in public places.
AACWA has also requested the state government to extend the timing fixed for antigen test from the current 6 am-6 pm  to 6 am-9 pm reasoning that many returnees will not be able to reach the Banderdewa police check gate at 6 pm as car services reach the gate only between 8 and 9 pm.
AACWA has further appealed to the state government to adopt the home isolation system so that those who are asymptomatic and between 10-60 years age can recover by staying at home maintaining the home quarantine directives.
