ITANAGAR, Mar 17: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has questioned state government’s decision of discarding various public welfare schemes meant for the twin capitals during finalization of the Revised Estimates for 2020-21.
In its press release issued today, AACWA claimed that the said schemes, if implemented could have lessened the traffic congestion problem in the ICR. Stating that the decision has resulted in disturbing the equilibrium in allocation of developmental funds, the association has said that it has also badly affected the economic conditions of the contractors and self-employed youths who depend on government schemes. Deducting the plan head schemes and selecting those which fall under the non-plan and untied  categories is only benefiting some of the legislators, AACWA alleged.
Due to diversion of plan head funds to non-plan heads, the contractors are facing acute financial crunch, it added. AACWA PR
