ITANAGAR, Oct 1: Congress will kick off its “andolan” against state BJP government from the day of “Gandhi Jayanti,” said Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Takam Sanjoy here today.
Speaking to reporters at the APCC headquarters, Sanjoy said ‘On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, we will do social service in various places and launch andolan against the state BJP government. “We are also organizing a car rally that will be flagged off from Rajiv Bhavan and culminate at Palin, Kra Daadi district where a mass Congress conclave will be held on October 3,” he added.
He also informed that Congress is going to file a 12-point charge-sheet against the state BJP government on various issues like mismanagement of Rs 200 crore in the name of Untied Fund, Trans- Arunachal Highway compensation scam, Sangte Village land scam, unconstitutional delay in Panchayat and Municipal elections as well as increasing law and order problems in the state.
Sanjoy further alleged that high level corruption is prevailing in the state and the Congress will knock the door of the court against the state BJP government. While emphasising the Trans-Arunachal Highway compensation scam, the APCC Chief stated, ‘ the party will seek intervention of the Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highway (MoRTH) for a CBI inquiry into the whole episode and if it failed to recommend the case then we will assume that MoRTH is also a party to the multi-crore scam.
Speaking on the Panchayat and Municipal elections, Sanjoy divulged that Congress and Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) have already filed a case jointly in the High Court and it has directed to finish the election process within December. However, there are reports that the state BJP government is trying to approach the Supreme Court to buy more time, said the APCC President while alleging that MLAs and ministers want to usurp powers of Panchayats and Municipalities.
