BOMDILA, Oct 5: Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng district Karma Leki on Monday inaugurated the month-long in-service training programme for the 1st batch of 10 Knitting Masters of the Department of Textile & Handicrafts here at the Craft Centre.
The Knitting Masters from five districts namely Shi Yomi, West Siang, Leparada, Lower Siang and Tawang will be imparted training on power-operated fully automatic computerized knitting machines by an expert Master Trainer-cum-Technician from Ludhiana, Punjab. The objective of the training is to introduce the state’s knitters to new knitting technologies for higher production and sustainable development of knitting units in all the districts.
The Knitting Masters will be trained in a phased manner who in turn will impart training to the trainees of the Craft Centres in their respective districts. The training will continue till November 3. DIPRO
