NAHARLAGUN, Jul 3:Plying of heavy vehicles has been prohibited on the Borpani bridge till repair works are complete. Traffic wardens and local police are regulating vehicular movement round the clock since this morning.

SP Papum Pare In-charge Capital, Tumme Ammo said that plying of heavy vehicle have been totally restricted as the bridge has been slightly eroded towards Naharlagun side and only light vehicles will be allowed to pass. No heavy vehicle will be allowed to pass until the bridge is fully repaired, he said.

Meanwhile Parliamentary Secretary and local MLA Techi Kaso today inspected the ongoing restoration worked and directed the engineers and workers of Highway department and M/S TK Construction to expedite the work. He also directed them to carry the work on war footing and make the road thorough for vehicular movement by Tuesday evening.

EE (Highway) Nani Tath informed that workers have been engaged 24 X 7 and being changed shift wise to complete the formation in the given stipulated period.
