ITANAGAR, Sep 30: The Bogum Bokang Kebang (BBK), the traditional supreme council of the Adis, East Siang District Unit, while strongly condemning the death of a pregnant woman with her unborn twins due to alleged medical apathy has demanded an inquiry into the unfortunate incident and stern action against the concerned doctor if found guilty.
The BBK also took serious note of the display of a series of medical carelessness and doctor' unwillingness to attend to the pregnant woman in critical condition.
"The doctor did not bother to take care of the pregnant woman but confused the patient and her family members at a time of great need.  Had the doctor acted timely, the woman and her unborn children could have been saved, " the BBK added.
Describing the death of the pregnant woman as an act of killing, the BBK said that according to the MHA guidelines, any pregnant woman needs to be taken care and treated properly in time even in this pandemic situation.
The BBK further threatened to resort to a democratic form of protest if no appropriate action is taken by the government in the case.
The  Jering Matkir Society(JMS) has demanded an impartial judicial probe over the deaths to avoid such incident in future. The society regretted that had the doctors concerned attended the ailing patient on time without making her shuttle between hospitals in a critical condition, three lives could have been saved.

"We are very much indebted to the health care workers including doctors and nurses for performing their duty during this pandemic situation but at the same time they should have taken care of emergency cases especially maternity case which has resulted in multiple fatalities, " it said.
Meanwhile, members of JMS visited and consoled the bereaved family members and assured all possible help to them on Tuesday.
"We are very much thankful to the media particularly the Gyoolo News, Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women(APSCW), JMS members of Capital complex, NGOs and well-wishers who stood in solidarity with the deceased's family members at this time of grief, " the society said.
