ITANAGAR, Dec 21: Core Committee of Lower Siang district on Kora/Korang Circle served 15 days ultimatum to the state government to resolve their demand to implement Arunachal Pradesh (Re-organization of district) Amendment Act 2013 and to notify the appointed date for the functionalization of the district.
Addressing the media persons at the press club here today, Chairman of the Core Committee Nyadar Loya said that despite repeated submission of representation, the state government is negligent to address the demands.
According to the government, the matter is in the Guwahati High Court and apparently the matter is subjudice. However, on December 16, the court stated that the matter was again sent back to the state government.
“The issue is now with the state government but it is not being addressed till date. Maybe the state government has some reason, but the Core Committee has decided to serve a 15 days ultimatum,” he said, failing to address the matter, the committee will launch a series of democratic movements in Galo inhabited districts.
Loya said the committee today submitted the memorandum to the chief minister on the matter as well as the 15 days ultimatum.
