ITANAGAR, Jul 24: The Arunachal Pradesh Colleges Forum (APCF) on Friday opposed the decision of the state government to conduct exams of final year college students via online mode citing it as practically "unsafe and unfeasible" when the state is witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases.
General Secretary, APCF, Bindung Dindo Taching also lamented that if the state government conducts examination via online mode it would be discriminatory towards students who do not have access to internet and even electricity in remote areas.
Claiming that there are more than 20000 students from diverse backgrounds  studying in various colleges, he added that about 500-600 students have gone back to their native places located in remote areas following prolonged lockdown and may not be able to arrange the logistics for the online examination and filling of forms timely.
The APCF has criticised the state government for coming up with such an academic schedule for colleges which is not only "undesirable but unfair too " and implementing it at a time when state is witnessing a rapid rise in positive COVID-19 cases.
