ITANAGAR, Sep 14: Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers Association (APCTA) DNGC Unit staged a peaceful dharna at the Dera Natung Government College campus here today.  Members are demanding immediate revocation of the suspension order against Associate  Professor Narendra Pramanik, removal of Secretary Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) and removal of Commissioner Education.
"We are very much hurt by the unacceptable decision taken by the APSSB and Commissioner Education," said a faculty member from DNGC while participating in the dharna. He further stated
"We are not running away from our responsibility, but the unfair decision by the APSSB has compelled us to stand outside our classrooms."
Teaching faculty members also added that academic pressure is already high and the suspension of teacher is a unfair move.
"APSSB examination is not our primary duty, we are much concerned about our academic duties but Commissioner Education has suspended a faculty member for APSSB duty which is a secondary duty and suspension that too for stopping a candidate from cheating in the APSSB examination," another added.
Further, APCTA-DNGC Unit has threatened to boycott future APSSB examinations and also go for state-wide protest if their demands are not fulfilled. We have met, Secretary APSSB, Commissioner Education and even spoke with the Education Minister over the phone in connection with the suspension order of the Associate Professor. We have urged the authority to revoke the suspension order, and the All Nyishi Students Union stands with faculty members said, General Secretary, ANSU- Gora Rikam.

Secretary-APSSB, Santosh Kumar Rai earlier said that the Board has found that Associate Professor, Narendra Pramanik engaged private teachers as invigilators without permission of the Board or knowledge of the Deputy Commissioner which is breach of SOP.
While refuting all the allegations, the Associate Professor said that he has no authority to appoint Invigilators as a Center Superintendent and clarified that the Deputy Commissioner Capital had appointed the Invigilators.
Moreover, DC himself has issued clean chit on the allegation but surprisingly APSSB has recommended for my suspension through Education Commissioner," he had said.
He further questioned the malfunctioning of the jammer installed by APSSB and a candidate entering the exam hall with a mobile phone despite frisking.
