PASIGHAT, Oct 20: A one day training programme on ‘Popularization and Health Benefits of Small Millets’ for farmers was conducted by the Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Pasighat (Central Agricultural University, Imphal) in association with ICAR-Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad here on Tuesday.
A total of 35 farmers (22 women and 13 men) from the Bodak village of East Siang district who participated in the training were sensitized about the scope and nutritional importance of high-yielding varieties of small millets and their cultivation packages. The training was chaired by Dean, College of Agriculture, CAU, Pasighat Professor B.N. Hazarika and co-chaired by Professor S.K. Bandyopadhyay of the host department.
