ITANAGAR,  Oct 12: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today said that the Commissioner, Secretary, and members of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) will be suspended after a Cabinet meeting. The assurance came after the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) and All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) met with the chief minister at the state civil secretariat with their charter of demands in regards to the APPSC- AE (Civil) question paper leak.
Speaking to reporters, President ANSU Nabam Dodum said that the CM has assured to suspend the Commissioner, Secretary, and members of the Commission after a cabinet meeting. Subsequently, the CM will serve a letter for termination to the Governor for his approval.
He also said that the demand of the unions on the shutdown of the Commission office is natural by the suspension of all officials as assured  by the CM.
“The CM has assured the suspension of every official of the Commission under his ambit by today. However, as the Commission is an autonomous body, other major decisions for the suspension of Commissioner, Secretary, and members will be taken by the Governor,” he said.
Dodum has appealed to the aspirants and the public to be patient in regards to the demand for CBI inquiry. The case has been recommended to the CBI but it will take a while as it has to be approved by the central government, he said.
“We have also appealed to the CM for comprehensive investigations of the APPSC cases of 2014 and 2017 along with the recent case by the CBI. Most importantly, the investigation should be made against Minoty Borang, who is the wife of accused Tama Saroh,” he said, adding that the report of a high-level committee constituted by the state government doesn’t have much impact as SIC has done a proper investigation and now it has been recommended to the CBI.
Meanwhile, President AAPSU Tana Dozi Tara said that the message is absolutely clear that any future exams conducted by the Commission will not be held under the present incumbent commissioner, secretary, and members.
He also said both Unions have already placed the point for one-time relaxation for  aspirants of various examinations to be conducted by the Commission.
“The CM has also assured to frame a robust standard operating procedure in the Commission so that no such incident occurs in the future. And all this will be done after the reappointment of new members and officials of the APPSC,” he said.
