ITANAGAR, Jun 24:

 

In all 1,500 poor and needy families within  Capital Complex were given free clothes by RKM Hospital secretary Swami Visheswananada Maharaj with the help of Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti volunteers led by its founder Ramesh Jeke since March last.

Huge quantizes of clothes were received from ITC Ltd under its CSR activity by Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Kolkata which in turn were received by RKMH here, Swamiji told this daily after completing distribution among the  targeted beneficiaries today.

About 72 young AVYS volunteers were engaged for the purpose.

 

Swamiji today said that he would like the help of AVYS in philanthropic activities in future, Jeke informed adviser Pradeep Kumar. However, it has been decided that the AVYS would continue it’s 'Save life mission' under the banner of Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donors' Organisation (AVBDO) henceforth. But the AVYS would widen its activities for the greater welfare of the downtrodden sections with setting up of a old age home would be at the top of the agenda, Jeke added.
