PASIGHAT, Jun 13 : The three-day Climate Change Adaptation Workshop which was organised here at the College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU by the State Climate Change Cell (SCCC), Department of Environment & Forests, Government of Arunachal Pradesh concluded today.
With this training it is assumed that district officials from various line departments shall be in a position to identify the Vulnerable Sector and in Making Risk Assessment study for submission of good adaptation proposal under NAFCC and request for necessary grants to be channelled through State Climate Change Cell for onward placement with State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) and Central Ministry.
During the 2nd day of the workshop officers from various line departments as participants and academicians from JNC and CAU Pasighat made field visit to Watershed Project at Aying village and interacted with villagers of Bodak village on Climate Change impacts on their agriculture & cropping practices and received feedbacks about the steps they have taken for overcoming that. It was actively participated by District AH & Veterinary Officer, Executive Engineer (UD), Dy. Director Of Agriculture & Horticulture, Officers from Soil & Water Conservation(RWD), Range Officer, scientists from State Climate Change Cell, ENVI Officers & Professors from JNC and CAU.
In the valedictory session Certificates of Completion were awarded to all participants.
