Book on Traditional Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh released
NIRJULI, Dec 1:
The Indigenous faith day was celebrated across the state in a befitting manner with great fervour and traditional gaiety. The day was also celebrated to mark the 80th birth anniversary of Golgi Bote Talum Rukbo.
The main function was held at the Nikum Niya ground here where a huge gathering of believers and eminent personalities including locals and senior citizens were present who witnessed daylong celebration which included cultural extravaganza and other programmes.
Addressing the function as chief guest, All India Vivekananda Kendra Vice President Pamashree Nivedita Bhide said that the pace of development would only be in fast track if culture, tradition and good habits are equally preserved and protected.
Our tradition and culture needs to be protected otherwise a time will come that our identity will be nowhere, she said and referred several instances from countries where the identity of the indigenous faith believers are vanishing.
She said that the country will become stronger than before if our deep rooted culture, tradition and diversity is maintained, protected and preserved and appealed to all to extend cooperation with the people working in this field.
Guest of honour, All India Executive Member of RSS, Gunwant Singh Kothari appreciated the Indigenous faith and cultural society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) leaders for promoting indigenous faith and belief and spearheading the indigenous movement in the state. He urged upon the youths and younger generation to carry forward the legacy of their forefathers so that our traditional value and cultural relation and diversity remain intact in society.
He also spoke on the emergence and influence of western culture in society and urged indigenous leaders to save the fabric of tradition and culture of the state.
USA based Facebook Director of Engineering, Sachin Kulkarni emphasised on the need for more development but also the need to preserve indigenous culture.
Good connectivity and communication in terms of road sector, health and education will bring more development but at the same time we should not forget to maintain our tradition and culture otherwise we may lose our identity which have happened in several western and third world countries, he said urging all to remain alert and save the traditional value of the community and society for protection of identity.
IFCSAP President Tajom Tasung elaborated several imitatives of the organisation for promotion and protection of the indigenous faith and belief in the state like construction of several Namlo, organising literary competitions, traditional programme, reducing ritual sacrifice etc.
From next year the Indigenous faith day will be celebrated for two days and other activities will also be included in the programme.
Dr. Emi Rumi, Organising Chairman Er Katung Wahge, Secretary General Bai Taba among others addressed the gathering.
Several cultural programmes were performed by several cultural troupes from Capital Complex and Papum Pare district.
An IFCSAP calendar was also released on the occasion.
