AALO, Jun 25: The Aalo Town Peoples' Welfare and Development Society (ATPWDS) in coordination with SRK and citizens of the township today launched a two-day social service to build a parking space below the Aalo Circuit House.
The said parking space measuring over 80 mtr in length was developed 3 years back by the APAWS but withered away with the passage of time. In today’s initiative, heavy machineries were pressed into service to make the facility more durable and cater to the rush during busy hours. It needs mentioning that a number of important establishments like SBI, post office, Circuit House and offices of the IB, DC, SP, DDSE, DEO are located in the vicinity. Chairman, ATPWDS Kento Ete who led the social service disclosed that the intention is to give the citizens parking convenience keeping in mind that it is the busiest street in township.  ATPWDS has been taking up such social services in various stretches of the TAH in the past too, he informed, adding that plans are on for a massive plantation drive after the construction of the TAH in an effort to beautify  Aalo which is one of the oldest towns in the state. He also appealed all to come forward and cooperate with the Society in such initiatives through cash, kind, etc.  West Siang DC Miki Loyi has lauded the ATPWDS for taking up the noble initiative.
