ITANAGAR, Oct 30: In view of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) Prelims scheduled on Sunday, security has been tightened up in all the 15 districts of the state and at the 127 examination centres.
This was informed by the Arunachal Pradesh Police PRO, Dr Hemant Tiwari on Friday. Briefing on security arrangements, Dr Tiwari informed that there are no security threats regarding the conduct of the exam. “But as the APPSC examination is one of the most prestigious competitive examinations in the state, to make it successful in a peaceful manner and for ensuring transparency and maintaining the mandated COVID-19 protocols, the state police has beefed up all security arrangements,” he said.
While informing that at least 26,459 aspirants are likely to take the examination in 15 districts and 127 centres, the APP PRO divulged that 16 companies of forces comprising 1000 personnel will be deployed at the examination centres and Strong Rooms along with escort parties and flying squad teams. Giving further details, he informed that at least 150 personnel will be deployed at the Strong Rooms numbering 17 under supervision of one Deputy Superintendent of Police in each room and 24 flying squads will also be kept ready to tackle any contingency during the exam.
Speaking on security arrangements in the Itanagar Capital Region, SP Jimmy Chiram informed that arrangements have been made as per requirements for all the 53 exam centres and at least 12,335 aspirants are going to appear from these centres. Extending best wishes to the aspirants, the SP urged the candidates to follow all the dos and don'ts of the Commission to avoid confusion and appealed them to reach their respective centres at least an hour before commencement of the examination to avoid rush.
Regarding traffic management, he assured that additional forces will be deployed especially in areas like Chandranagar bridge to avoid traffic congestion, also informing that no vehicles will be allowed to park around the examination centres and no crowd will be allowed to assemble in surrounding areas.
A videoconference to review the law and order arrangement was also held today with all the SPs of 15 districts. IGP Law & Order Chuku Appa, Secretary APPSC AR Talwade, Member, APPSC Maj. Gen (Retd.) Ganesh Singh Bist also attended the meeting.
