SILLE, Mar 10: In a noble initiative, state civil officers in collaboration with a student body gave a facelift to a dilapidated school hostel through crowdfunding.
Deputy Commissioner East Siang, Dr. Kinny Singh today inaugurated the renovated boys’ hostel complex of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sille, implemented under aegis of Project -37, a crowd funding initiative of APCS 2016 batch officers , in collaboration with Sille –Oyan Banggo & All Legong Banggo Students Union(LBSU).
The renovated & refurbished boys hostel which was earlier in dilapidated condition, now wears a new look with all the required amenities.
Local MLA Ninong Ering, alumni,teachers , officers, community members, Panchayat members, NGOs & various sections of society also contributed towards the initiative.
The DC lauded the collaborative initiative taken up for revamping & repairing  the  public asset, adding such asset will  provide a conducive environment for students and other academic activities. Such initiative also encourages social values in society to take up and give back to society, she said.
Lauding the effort, MLA Ninong Ering, urged community members, students & stakeholders of Legong Banngo to protect, maintain the assets & building infrastructure with a sense of ownership. He also informed that top priority is being laid by the State Government on Education & Health in the Budget.
Former MLA Tatung Jamoh also spoke on the occasion and lauded the noble endeavor of crowdfunding by all stakeholders. 
CO,Sille-Oyan,Dr. Heera Panggeng,executing the Project 37 - on behalf on APCS-2016 ,   informed  that the aim of the project was to protect public asset and to make it functional with public support ,which has been duly achieved.  Various renovation works taken up were electrification of the entire building, water supply connections & toilets, painting of walls, ceilings, solar street lighting, furnitures, repairing of walls, roofing, barbed wire fencing  of the premises etc.
The team of officers of APCS -16 under Project -37, has been taking up such developmental initiatives in the State. DIPRO
