NAHARLAGUN, Dec 10: Commenting on the media reports which claimed that China has accelerated its village building activities near the Indian border of Bum La in Tawang district, Chief Minister Pema Khandu today confirmed them to be true.
Responding to a query in this regard the Chief Minister, however, said there is nothing to worry as China hasn’t encroached Indian territory and developing villages within their own territorial jurisdiction.  “Moreover, the Central government and the state government are also giving emphasis on border infrastructure developmental works. Our efforts are on to keep the border population in their respective areas while providing all kinds of communication and infra facilities,” Khandu stated.
As per recent media reports, China has constructed at least 3 villages nearly 5 km away from the Bum La pass which lies close to the India-China-Bhutan tri-junction in western Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, clarifying his meeting with Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsanghchalak (Chief) of the Hindu nationalist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) recently at Lekhi in Naharlagun, Khandu said it was his moral duty as the head of the state to visit the high-statured personality.
“We have discussed about Arunachal, but there was nothing that can be called ‘religious discussion’. The report which claimed there was religious discussion between us was totally false,” the CM asserted.
