NAHARLAGUN, Oct 25: A 2-day Children’s Film Bonanza is being held at hotel Tosum, Naharlagun on October 25-26 which is being organized by the Children’s Film Society of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India  in collaboration with the Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
In his inaugural address the Minister of IPR, RWD and government Spokesperson Bamang Felix while appreciating the Administrative Officer of Children’s Film Society of India, Rajesh Gohil who had come all the way from Mumbai to conduct the Children’s Film Bonanza described the collaboration of CFSI and IPR as historic that would help in screening meaningful films for school children.
Urging children to watch and follow only good, educative and morally enriching films, the Minister added that films influenced the human mind and society at large. He told the school children to take full advantage of the Children’s Film Bonanza and take life lessons from the beautiful films on an entire gamut of issues that would be screened during the  two days. Felix told the huge gathering that children could change the course of history by dint of their hardwork and innovative imagination and narrated the daring and inspiring story of the young Malala Yousafzai who surmounted all hurdles and stumbling-blocks to get education. He also told the huge gathering that the Arunachal Film and Television Institute has started functioning in the state that would facilitate the aspiring film makers and actors in the state.   
The Special Secretary of IPR, Himanshu Gupta  while participating in the deliberation lauded the Children’s Film Society of India for collaborating with the department of IPR to organize such a meaningful event for the children and hoped that the children would not only enjoy the films but also carry home the message conveyed by the films.  He further urged the students to study hard and utilize their leisure times gainfully.
In his address, Rajesh Gohil threw light on the initiatives of CFSI to produce and screen children’s films across the country adding that the primary onus of CFSI was to produce quality films for the children to educate them in all spheres of life. He said that children’s films were also produced by the CFSI for the children with hearing and visual disabilities. 
Earlier, in his welcome speech the Director of IPR, Obang Tayeng said that films were not only meant for entertainment  but were  very effective medium and sources of enriching one’s knowledge and hoped that the Children’s Film Bonanza would go a long way to educate the children.
It may be mentioned here that school children from across the twin capital are being invited to enjoy the films both in the morning and afternoon sessions. Films shows to entertain visual and hearing impaired students will be held on Friday.
