ITANAGAR, Jun 17: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) has taken suo motu cognizance of the case in which a 10-year old minor girl was allegedly raped by a relative in Radum village near Kamporijo Circle, Kamle district on January 29 last.
After receipt of information of the heinous crime and taking suo motu cognizance, APSCPCR Chairperson Gumri Ringu immediately contacted the Superintendent of Police, Kamle seeking prompt arrest of the accused who is still at large. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered at the Raga Police Station after the victim’s father filed a complaint on May 27 last u/s 6 of the POCSO Act. Kamle Police have assured the Commission that they are taking all-possible steps to arrest the culprit and ensure justice to the victim. The concerned officials of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kamle were also directed by the APSCPCR Chairperson to assist the victim including a follow-up of the case.
Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Kamle has informed that the victim has been shifted to Achukuru Child Care Institute, Ziro after completion of medical formalities.
